Very smooth and clean user interface. It makes reading news very enjoyable and is one of my top 5 apps for news.
This just isnt as clean looking as their old app, News Pro. Examples: - Stock market indices are jumbled up against the index name instead of being nicely lined up in a single column - The front page of each section is a photo with the big bold font right above an ad that doesnt look right in context. Thats followed by news headlines with tiny landscape photos. A bigger problem for me is that I can no longer quickly look at the top few stories in a section (World news, US news, etc.) on a single page. Instead, I now have to navigate to each section on its separate own page. Thats too time-consuming and its not gonna happen. --
cant not email articles with 9.0.2
Old app UI was much better. Cant just quickly browse through articles. Refreshing and re-ordering is annoying. Categories in Pro were really nice. I could open the categories Im interested in and browse through the top 20 or so articles in all very efficiently. Cant do anything like that in the new app. Very poorly done, much less useable.
They kept nothing that was good in the old app - very disappointed - if only I could give 0 stars
This was a great app. Lots of interesting news from around the world. Now its single paragraphs on less pertinent topics. Am deleting this now. What a loss!
I downloaded and tried this version of Reuters when it was newer, and it was terrible. Now that News Pro is being "retired" (I like to imagine with an execution-style shot to the back of the head), I find that this app is still terrible. For one thing, not all of the content that Reuters News Pro app has is available in this app. The US edition doesnt even have a US section! Seeing as the UK, Japan, and India editions do have local sections, this is a mind boggling omission. Sticking with the US edition, the Video section is missing, as are these sections: Bonds, Indices, Currency, Commodities, Funds, Sports(!), Lifestyle, Pictures, and Economy. While I do prefer the single-column layout, the animated adverts really make this app drag along sluggishly. The Stocks section seems to be buried in the ticker settings somewhere, but I could be engaging in wishful thinking there. While the aesthetics of this app could depend on personal preferences, the fact that much content is either unavailable or perhaps harder to get to is a dealbreaker. If this app isnt fixed, I will seek my news from other sources I used to think werent as good as Reuters.
Wish there was a way they could be back the old app . I appreciate the videos in the news but if I wanted video I would download the video app . At the old app you had videos in a separated tab . Also the old app was a lot better organized
Just downloaded update and app crashes immediately when trying to launch, on an IPhone 6s Plus.
I had no problems with the app crashing after updating it. The new update has a front page with both the previous Top News as well as a Wire page for latest news. Quite helpful for following breaking and live news — quite a good update.
I love the new home page, which showcases a handful of the major headlines in Top News along with the ability to see all the news as its breaking in the wire. The best of both worlds.
Quality reporting in a simple and fast app.
Always been a fan of Reuters as a top 5 daily news source via the website - more so than the app habitually. This app design is elegant and efficient, superior to my other news apps. I can find everything I need within a few clicks and Reuters bread and butter wire/breaking news is front and center. No problems with functionality. Well done.
Reuters app excels in ease of use and functionality. Highly impressed with clean design and thoughtful features. Significantly upgrade in user experience compared to other news apps - my new go-to source for news.
This app makes it very easy to stay informed. The stories give good context and seem relatively void of opinions and biases.
While reading the headlines under The Wire heading, when it updates the screen jumps from one location to another. This causes me to temporarily lose my place and is very distracting when scanning for the topics I actually want to read. Additionally, the constant tinkering of stories is ridiculous. Often it seems minor changes occur within a story that cause it to be "updated" while not really having a medium-large effect on the overall content. Seeing the same stories repeated constantly implies Reuters has nothing new to report.
A decent news source however the same three friggin Cisco ads get really annoying. Now I hate Cisco more than ever and Im avoiding their products.
As another reviewer mentions, the shifting of the column of headlines is very annoying. There must be a way to update the headlines without causing this jump. Update: Stopped using. Seems every time I started reading a headline the update shift happened. Deal breaker. Plenty of other good news apps out there.
Fast, concise and well organized!
